How to make mod_rewrite work with FrontPage extensions

Definition: How to make mod_rewrite, RewriteEngine, RewriteRule and RewriteCond work with FrontPage extensions.

Applies to: Linux and Unix operating systems with apache mod_rewrite and FrontPage extensions installed.

It is very easy to get FrontPage to work with mod_rewrite.

Just replace Options None with Options +FollowSymLinks in every .htaccess file found in "_vti_bin/", "_vti_bin/_vti_adm/" and "_vti_bin/vti_aut/"

Thats it! Took me a little research and trial and error to find the solution to this little annoying problem.
