Blank Notebook Screen

Postby tngirl on Sun Feb 01, 2009 3:31 am

I accidentally deleted some registry keys and now my notebook monitor is white/blank. How can I repair this - especially when I cannot see the screen? Please help!

I assume it is working fine when you first start your computer.

Press F8 just before Windows loads and select Last good configuration. If you are in luck, that should work for you. You can also try to boot in safe mode.

If it does not work, do a repair install using your windows cd or dvd, after you are done, make sure to run windows update again and install any missing drivers.

I am now getting an error on boot that says :

File: \windows\system32\winload.exe

Status: 0xc000000f

Info: The selected entry could not be loaded because the application is missing or corrupt.

Please help I am at a total loss!

You need to do a repair install using your windows installation cd or dvd. It should replace the damaged files / registry keys for you.

I have tried this to no avail; I must be doing something wrong. I am using Vista and it keeps telling me that it can't automatically repair the files.
