Questions in regard to mechanical computer cooling such as fans and heatsinks.

hi I have a packard bell easynote e6307 running windows xp

i have had problems with the computer switching itselve off, it appeared to be overheating i have fitted a repacement fan unit, but now when i switch it on it seems to be booting up but there is nothing on the screen.

can you help

Your system files might have been damaged due to the computer shutting off in an unexpected manner. I would try to make an repair installation of your operating system or reinstall it completely using a recovery cd.

If you have files you want to keep, then you need to install the harddrive on another computer and retrieve it from there. Just remember to not install it as a boot drive on the other computer as you just want to access and make backups. Not run the operating system.
