Postby mlctncvmc on Mon Oct 20, 2008 7:00 pm

Is there a program or site to go to to find all the problems that are wrong with a system? I am always getting updates from Microsoft and My computer will not take them and than again xployer cuts out and restarts. This computer use to have xp on it.

Thanks Alot!

Have you tried to install the updates in administrator mode? Visa is known for its problems with UAC (User Account Control) that automatically reduce the potential of security breeches in your system. Try to disable UAC and install try to install the updated again.

1, Launch MSCONFIG by from the Run menu.

2, Click on the Tools tab. Scroll down till you find "Disable UAC" . Click on that line.

3, Press the Launch button.

4, A command (CMD) window will open. When the command is done, you can close the window.

5, Close MSCONFIG. You need to reboot the computer for changes to apply.

If you continue to have problems with your computer and if it is not too much hassle, backup your important files and try to install a fresh copy of Windows Vista on your computer. I always recommend fresh installs as it minimizes the risk for errors.
