Computer will not start up after Storm

Postby garyva on Thu Sep 03, 2009 5:40 am

We had a bad thunderstorm this morning that caused problems w/our power for a short time. In fact, it was discovered that 3 fuses had tripped in the home. Well, my computer is hooked up to a Surge Protector w/a backup power suppply. However, when I went to turn it on after everything had settled down. The computer would not power up, but there is a green light right above where the power cord plugs into the computer that is lit up. This is an HP Media Center pc 873n. I am really shocked because I have always done everything to make sure I was protected. Any Ideas would be appreciated. To make matter even worse one of my laser printer on a sperate surge protector also quit working.

Electricity is fatal to electronics if they get a little bit too much of it. Have you tried to change your power supply?
