Computer wont charge!

Postby scott_clevedon on Mon Aug 10, 2009 10:43 pm

Hey guys..

Ive had my laptop for around a year now. I dropped it a few months ago (not very bad) and the charger snapped. That wasent a big issue because with a new charger it worked fine but i had to be careful since that day as when i dropped it a few months back i had loosened the pin inside the computer.

The other day i tried charging my computer and nothing happened. I guess that over time something inside my laptop that was loose has just got worse and worse until finally disconnecting and the power supply broken.

I know for a fact the computer still works fine apart from the charger, as i used a friend with the same computers' battery and it was all good.

Is it worth taking to a computer speciallist to get them to fix it? Is it even repairable if something in the laptop has broken?

Hope somebody can help me!! Cheers, Scott

It sounds to me like a connection problem with the charging jack. A specialist can probably fix it without much hassle by re-soldering the jack's internal connection or perhaps replacing it with a new one, if the pin is indeed broken.

It's definitely repairable.
