computer wont turn on but the fans are running.

yes hi this problem with my computer started some time ago my desktop compaq will not turn on the light on the front of the computer turns on the light on the back of the computer is on to show that there is power going to the computer. every once in a while i will get it to come on and then it will either get to the welcome screen and just freeze or it will finish through that and just go amazingly slow but it wont even do that any more. any ideas on what the problem could be?

try turning of your pc, then remove all your memory sticks, then restart your pc. If your Proccesor is good then you should hear some kind of beeping, if you do then you might have a bad memory stick but if you dont hear anything then it sounds like it might be a bad processor
