cpu will not boot help?

when I turn on my laptop it will not boot. after some time the screen reads operating system not found. Please help.

Did the boot options on the computer change? Try to reattach the cables attached to your hard drive, they might not be seated properly.

Make sure you do not have a cd or dvd in your cd/dvd drive. Some computers try to boot on that drive if you have anything in them.
