Disc drive D on old Gateway 600 model Win98SE

This disc drive is showing that it is 100% full. It should have nothing in it. How do I get this information to change to being empty, as it should be?

Could you provide more details?

From what can be gleaned from your question, and since it seems to be an older computer, try entering it's BIOS and check if the drive in question is correctly identified. If it's really empty, and the OS says otherwise, you can try formatting it.
