Error on installation
1 post • Page 1 of 1
Error on installationI have a Windows Vista Home Premium computer that requires an upgrade from SP1 to SP2. I already download the update from Microsoft Update and I go through the setup process as usual. After the computer restarts several times to install the service pack, at one point during the boot up process the computer continues to process the service pack files and it stood still when it comes to a certain file. I knew there was an error in installing the service pack when I see exclamation marks on a file. The exact file name that caused the error is drvmain.sdb. I waited for more than 30 minutes to see if the issue is resolved, but the installation stood still. I had no choice but to shut down the computer using the power button. I also tried booting to safe mode and using the Last Known Good Configuration, but I still receive this error. The only time that the error is resolved is when I boot from the Windows Vista DVD and use the recovery console to restore it to normal condition. Can anyone help me with this problem, because I cannot find the information online to what I am looking for.
