having trouble login on my computer

having trouble login on my computer
I have been trying to login my computer but it automatically restarts it when i try. When i restart the computer the home page pops up but there are no icons. i cannot get to the control panel or anything. i want to reboot and save my files but i cant. i think i might have a virus PLEASE HELP
