Im not sure whats wrong withit. plz advise

Hello. My computer hasstopped working. i start it. and it goes to the windows xp screen. then it goes black. my mouse cursor is there and usable. but the screen is black aside from that. ive attempted safe mode. and last known good. any help would be appreciated.

Are you using an Nvidia graphics card in SLI mode? I know some versions of it experienced the same problems as you are having.

Do you still get a blank screen in safe mode?

If you are able to, try to reinstall your graphics drivers or do a system repair installation using your windows xp cd or recovery disc.
