Load balancing 3G and DSL internet connection?

Postby ronallandottk on Wed Feb 04, 2009 8:40 pm

Hello everyone.

Just thought I'd ask:

Is it possible to load balance two internet connections, one via a dial-up USB 3G modem (Huawei E220) and the other via NIC - LAN (ADSL) on Windows XP Pro SP2? If so, how? Is there any software solution to this?

I've read about load balancing on two internet connections on two NICs, but not one on a NIC and the other on a 3G modem.

Thanks for any replies.

Should work the same, as long as the 3G modem shows up as some kind of network interface. You can try to set it up by reading http://www.geekswhoknow.com/articles/load-balance-two-internet-connections.htm

Remember though it is not true bonding so downloading one file with higher thruput won't work, but downloading more files at once gives you a better thruput. Bittorrent works great with it ;)

I'm not really looking for true bandwidth bonding, just a way to maximize two connections via load balancing. Yep, tried that solution. It doesn't really work though, internet access tends to default to the last one activated, that is, when I dial up using the 3G modem, all internet requests default to it, and the DSL connection is left idle.

I'm not really a network expert, but I suspect the solution that was suggested only works if both of the internet connections (or network connections) are via NIC, or at least of the same type.

In my case, one internet connection is dial up, and the other LAN/High Speed Internet, so they are classified differently by Windows networking. I can't therefore bridge them (assuming bridging them is a solution).

Thanks for the tip though, any more suggestions are welcome. :-)

You're probably right. The software load balancing built into Windows aint the greatest, but it does work. I have tested it myself. It was with two nics. One was cable -> ethernet -> computer nic, the other dsl -> ethernet -> computer nic.

There are cheap hardware solutions, Linksys have a modem, but yet again, you need ethernet plugs on both connections.

Let us know if you find a solution.

Several Ways How To Find The Money For Charity Using Payday

If you own a home and the hot water hater breaks, you won't have the luxury of time to save up to pay for the repair or replacement. If you rent, it colud be your washing machien or clothes dryer that breaks, springing an unepected expense on you two wees before payday.

Ideally, you have an emergency savinngs account set aside to handle home repairs. Unfortunately, unemployment and ohter finacial pressures in today's touygh economy have seriously delpleted or even eliminated many pople's emergecy savigns. At the same time, creit card charges aren't an option due to slashed credit limits, and banks are slower and more reluctant to hand out personal loans than in the past. This is especially true if you happen to be unemployed or already struggling finanially.

It's likely you'll qualify for a payday loan if you're a U.S. citizen, you're 18 or older and you have a reliable income. Credit history is not an issue for payday loan lenders, and you won't be asked why you need the loan or how you plan to spend it.

Payday loan cash advances aren't just fast and easy to appyl for and recive, they're also very afordable tooday. These are short term looans that are paid off very quickly. If the loan is paid off on time, there will be only one charge or interest payment instaed of months or years of them as with other typres of loans. When it comes to managing the cost of home repairs or unexpeccted appliance replacements, payday loasns are a prractical and affordable solution.

2000 per day of yield and no big huge starting capital

Postby cypeanaerce on Wed Oct 07, 2009 12:03 pm

Good day, sun shines!
There have were times of troubles when I didn't know about opportunities of getting high yields on investments. I was a dump and downright pessimistic person.
I have never imagined that there weren't any need in big starting capital.
Now, I'm happy and lucky , I begin to get real income.
It's all about how to select a proper companion who utilizes your funds in a right way - that is incorporate it in real business, and shares the income with me.

You can ask, if there are such firms? I have to answer the truth, YES, there are. Please get to know about one of them:
