Re: Monitor blank screenWe could use a few more details...is it a new build or an old PC? Does it run Windows? Does it make any beeps?
You can check this particular thread too, it may be similar to what you're experiencing: http://www.geekswhoknow.com/forum/screen-comes-on-then-goes-blank-t52.html
Re: Monitor blank screenold one bah
no sound or beeps windows xp
Re: Monitor blank screenThe simplest explanation could be that the monitor cable just worked itself loose. Check the connections if they are secure and tight.
If that doesn't do anything, you may have to open it up and make sure the video card is securely plugged in its slot and plugged in securely to the power supply (if with an aux power connector). The memory DIMMs may need to be checked if properly seated as well. Maybe you can try another monitor just to eliminate it as a source of the problem.
Re: Monitor blank screennow problem is ...
the screen keeps flashing between blank and normal sometimes after restart then no problem anybody knows why ?
Re: Monitor blank screenI'm inclined to think that the video signal cable just isn't secured. If it works itself loose, the monitor will go into standby if it doesn't receive a signal from the video card. Conversely, once a signal comes through, the monitor works. It may very well be that the cable is plugged in, but not all the way through, so heat expansion/contraction causes your monitor to act iffy.
Just unplug the signal cable, plug it in again securely, and tighten the thumbscrews if any.
Re: Monitor blank screeni plug it to my laptop and the monitor works .
Re: Monitor blank screenSo that rules out any problems with the monitor.
As for your desktop, make sure the monitor is securely connected. If that doesn't do anything for you, try checking this out: http://www.geekswhoknow.com/articles/reasons_you_get_a_blank_screen.htm One of the solutions may be applicable to your case.
