no power

Postby DEACONMOON on Tue Dec 02, 2008 4:39 am

Hi, I have a notebook that had a loose plug for charger. Wiggle it just right and it would charge. It got so bad I opened it up to see if I could find the problem. Couldn't find anything, however, it made it completly dead when I put it back together. Now I don't even have a light on the power button. Does anyone have a suggestion?
Thanks.

The easiest way to get it working is to turn it in to your service center and have them look at it. It is unsafe to try to fix an electrical problem yourself. Thought, you could check the following things.

Is the battery okay? Having a loose power connection can sometimes ruin the batter over time and make it completely dead.

A fuse might have blown inside your laptop, though it will probably take some soldering to replace and it is quite an advanced repair procedure in most cases.

Try a different charger with the same power rating as the one you have now.
