power supply

power supplyI have an old Packard Bell 486 and when I turn it on I get a message that the internal battery is dead. Where is this battery so I can replace it.
Re: power supplyI guess I'll have to answer this myself since geek squad and tiger were no help. After some disassembly I found the battery on the motherboard. Now the problems were to find out if it's really dead, and first I need to know how many volts it is.
I couldn't make out all the nomanclature on the battery without breaking the pin mounts off. Then to find where to get one. Answer: Mouser Electronics had them P/N 658-BR1225-1HC and it is 3 volts, and a whopping $1.73 each. These have the pc board pin mounts already attached. Well another old computer thats not getting replaced. Although thats the only answer I seem to get from the kids that call themselves tech.
