Problem trying to salvage data from external enclosure

Postby jayyvid on Sat Sep 12, 2009 10:13 am

I have a pc using xp.While trying to recover data from an IDE hard drive, using an external enclosure, I managed to inadvertently partition it. It gets worse. I then found out that the hard drive was from my daughter's old imac (OS 9) and not the one containing the data I was looking for! When we connected the enclosure with hd to my daughter's macbook it said it is not compatible. Is this because I partitioned it or is it because OS9 is not compatible with OS X? Whatever the cause, is it possible to overcome these problems as the drive contains photos which cannot be replaced? My life hangs by a thread!!
1. Can the partition be undone?
2. Is there some way the macbook can read the OS9 disk?

I should just clarify my requirements. I don't want to run applications. What I actually want to do is to read data from an OS9 formatted disk (plugged in externally via usb) from within OSX.
