Screen or Pc problems

I have a dell pc, and it worked fine, but it hasnt been used for a while and when i went to turn it on it comes on like normal. You can see the Windows XP and stuff on the monitor but then the screen is just Black... however, you can see the cursor on the screen and it moves when you move the mouse as it should... but when i right click the little box wont show... any ideas if this can be fixed, or what is wrong with it.. I have rebooted the pc multipul times same thing is happening...

When your computer boots, just before it loads windows, press f8. Select last known good configuration and try loading windows.

If the above does not work, try to restore your registry by using a utility called Registry Restore Wizard found on on the Ultimate Boot CD that can be downloaded from http://www.ultimatebootcd.com

last scenario would be to reinstall windows / do a repair install because it is most likely your loginui.exe has gone missing. Might be because of a virus etc. After your computer works again, install an antivirus on it and keep it updated.
