Tranferring files takes soooo long HELP
2 posts • Page 1 of 1
Tranferring files takes soooo long HELPI just changed my motherboard from a AMD to a Intel Dual Core and now when I transfer a file for example a 700 mb avi file to my USB jumb drive it takes about 30-45 mins but on with the AMD it would take a couple of minutes. One thing that happened changing to the Intel Dual Core one of my memory sticks went bad. I had (2) 1GB sticks in the AMD and that maxed that motherboard out now with this Intel it supports up to 4GB I just put 4 GB of ram into my Intel motherboard and no change. With the AMD it was a lot faster around 2-8 mins for a file copy but still it take 30 to 45 mins. What do I need to change? This is the only thing and has a negative about the intel dual core vs the amd. Not only does is take so long to put the file on a jump drive it also take that long from my c: drive to my f: storage drive which is a 500GB intertal. PLEASE help me figure out what is wrong with it. Thanks Rob
Re: Tranferring files takes soooo long HELPDid you reinstall any drivers or reinstalled a new operating system after you changed your motherboard? If not, that is most likely the cause of the slowness.
Changing your motherboard could be fatal to your computers performance if you do no reinstall your operating system and update your drivers after changing it.
