Windows 7 after update issues

My computer runs in a loop now all of a sudden. When turning it on this is what you will see. 1st the blue HP screen pops up but for some reason this one has alot of vertial white lines going through it. Then the next screen shows a black background and alot of white exclamation points. After seeing this the first time I knew there was something wrong. Then it goes to the Windows 7 startup screen with the Windows animation. Afterwards it goes through a few black screens then hits this blue screen which tells me there was a error and I am only able to catch a little bit of what it says because it restarts after a couple of seconds. I have noticed close to the bottom it says its dumping files and when it gets to a certain number it restarts. Now it does this over and over again for some reason. I have tried going on safe mode and doing a system restore but that hasnt help. Can someone plz help. Oh yea I updated to 7 from vista about a month ago and had no problem until now. I have noticed others have had this same problem, but I have yet to find a solution. I tried to use my install disk to repair and then I even tried to install windows 7 on it again to try to hopefully overwrite the os and repair the problem but that made things worse. Now I have 2 windows 7 on my cpu and I am not able to use safe mode. When I try it says windows cannot finish installation in safe mode. It will finish when restated and started normally. I have tried a clean boot someone suggested and that didnt work either. When the blue screen pops up I have noticed it says nvlddmkm.sys
