XPI had to reformat my C drive and reinstall windows XP, everything loaded great except one thing. I have two hardrives in my computer and it only found one??? How do I find the other one? I went to my computer right click on it and went to manage, then went to disk management and it's not there. I do believe it's a western digital. It worked before. Help
Re: XPIt has files on it? Make sure you did not plug any cables out of your hard drive. It needs both a power cable and a data cable. Power your computer off and try to re-seat the cables and start your computer again.
If the drive was formatted and previously working, it should have showed up automatically after an install, just like you other drive. Or else you have to assign it a drive letter in the computer management console.
Re: XPIt doesn't show my other hard drive G, H, I it has files on it and it was never removed I just reformated my C: drive and your right when I put the new operating system on it should have found it. I need ideas where and how I my locate it
Re: XPGo to computer management in the control panel and select storage. If your drives are connected in your computer they will appear there. You probably just need to assign them new drive letters or initialize them so they will show up in the operating system.
Re: XPDid that already and they don't show-up?? Like I said before they were there prior to formating my C drive
Re: XPNo unrecognized drive showed up in that list? Make sure you scrolled the whole list.
Anyway, if it does not show up in that list (unrecognized, un paritioned etc) then your drives are not connected somehow or something else happened. If you go into bios, does you other drive show up there?
Re: XPNow you got me?? How do you get into the bios??
Re: XPWhen your computer boots, you will see a logo or screen with information on it, it usually tells you what you need to press to enter bios on that page. Be quick though it usually only shows for a few seconds. Usually you push the delete button or F2.
